Apex Industries is Hiring a CLEANROOM TECHNICIAN Near Tigard, OR

Objective
OBJECTIVE (We are hiring for only one position - 1st or 2nd shift - Salary DOE - All levels encouraged to apply!)
LEVEL 1 - Perform all functions of tube bending ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Position may include any or all of the following assigned tasks: Teflon tube bending, basic wiring, and cable assembly. Demonstrate the ability to read and build to Engineering drawings and label to print. Identify issues affecting quality or on time delivery. Follow test procedures and document test data.
LEVEL 2 - Demonstrate the ability to perform all assigned/qualified tasks which may include any or all of the following: assembly (mechanical and electrical), plumbing (stainless steel and Teflon tubing), electrical wiring (cables and assemblies), fusion (purebonding, socket and IR) and plastic welding with minimum supervision. Demonstrate the ability to read and build to Engineering drawings and label to print. Identify issues affecting quality or on time delivery. Follow test procedures, identify and correct any problems found and document test data. Train assigned workers in becoming proficient at new tasks.
LEVEL 3 - Perform designated work, assembly (mechanical and electrical), plumbing (stainless steel and Teflon tubing), electrical wiring (cables and assemblies), fusion (purebonding, socket and IR) and plastic welding without supervision. Demonstrate the ability to read and build to Engineering drawings and label to print. Follow test procedures, identify and correct any problems found and document test data. Develop and implement new test procedures. Perform training responsibilities. Write and implement work instructions.

Qualification, Requirements, and/or Experience (LEVEL 1)

  • Set up, adjust and operate tube bending machinery and equipment to bend structural plastic pipe, tube, bar, etc. to specifications.
  • Fabricate directly from drawings, samples, or instructions without supervision.
  • Develop layouts from drawings, samples or instructions.
  • Check bent parts to drawing specification and tolerance using proper measurement and inspect equipment.
  • Identify, properly tag and remove non-conforming materials.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a correct and timely manner.
  • Perform first article runs and communicate recommendations as appropriate.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years in manufacturing environment, Cleanroom experience preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret engineered drawings.
  • Able to identify and build using Inch and Metric dimensions.
  • Able to read and interpret a bill of materials,
  • Be able to communicate issues related to work orders, drawings, part shortages and machine errors.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Ability to work in a concentrated team environment setting for designated shift
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use the following hand tools to complete assigned tasks:
    • Wrenches, screwdrivers, rachet/socket tools
    • Exacto/utility knifes
    • Measuring devices
    • Deburring Tools
    • Hand flare tools
    • Wire strippers/crimp tools
    • Tube cutters and benders
  • Demonstrate the ability to use the following electric tools safely to complete assigned tasks:
    • Heatgun
    • Hand drills (electric, and battery)
    • Hamilton flaring tool
    • Heatshrink labelmaker

  • Demonstrate the ability to use the following hand tools to complete assigned tasks:
    • Wrenches, screwdrivers, rachet/socket tools
    • Exacto/utility knifes
    • Hand scaper
    • Hand chisel
    • Measuring devices
    • Deburring Tools (metal and plastic)
    • Counter Sinks, drills and taps(standard and NPT)
    • Helicoils and insertion tools
  • Hand flare tools.
  • Wire strippers/crimp tools.
  • Terminal connectors.
  • Tube cutters and benders (SST and Teflon).
  • Demonstrate the ability to use the following electric tools safely to complete assigned tasks:

  • Some noise and plastic chips in manufacturing area.
  • Safety glasses recommended on the manufacturing floor outside of designated safety corridor.
  • Hearing protection recommended in vicinity of machinery.
  • Compliance with company safety practices and procedures.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing and walking for entire assigned shift hours.
  • Bend/kneel, stoop/crouch, twist/turn, grasp/reach overhead and outward frequently.
  • The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 35 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stand at workstation for designated shift
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing & vision protection, steel-toes shoes and appropriate protective clothing.
